Blog revisited

Hello. I’ve decided to blog again, mostly to organize thoughts around a new body of work. It sits there waiting through thick or thin, so here goes a new exit plan.

Originally I was going to blog about the process of art-making being a road to good mental health (for me), but now I intend to share the actual process more than the theorizing about cause & effect. There’s a distance that previously felt safe, but now just feels…distant.

I’m in! 2017 was a low year, a year of gravity. However, it lead me to begin writing again and I won third prize in a creative nonfiction flash writing contest (I’ll share that in a separate post). And from there I began painting again, and then cleaned up my website – with a new About page! What had seemed monumental, now seems calmly doable.

2018 sees levity air-bubbling itself back in – cheers!

When I first discovered you (via Janet) I imagined I might have discovered a fellow traveler of the darker roads. It’s true and a relief to know there is good company to be found at the rest stop.

I feel the same way about you and your work, Robin. I’m forever grateful the universe introduced me to Janet and then to you. Cheers to our three painted and worded worlds of beautiful, mysterious, walkers-of-darker-roads women. xo

What once seems impossible, eventually seems doable. Blogging was absolutely that way for me. Congratulations on the writing prize. I am envious and proud. Yes, the best of us is just us, not contrived. Just us. No apologies. So happy to have you back.
    Love,
    Shalagh

Hi Shalagh! Thank you, and certainly your writing and self have been an inspiration for me! My writing is mostly just for me, but the award helped get me thinking about some things. Now I’m trying to relearn all my WordPress settings – ha.Thanks for leaving a comment! Dawn xx
