Studio

Here is a peek into our studio space – aka the second bedroom.

My table and view

Small spaces have necessitated small works, “cleaner” mediums (watercolours & pencils), and generally a feeling of tight control. Maybe one day I’ll break out big, but that could be dizzying. The perfect little black crow is an encaustic painting by my talented sister, Lisa. We love the crows of Victoria, B.C.

Malcolm's table

Malcolm’s work table overlooks the roof next door, and beyond to a beautiful western sky. Khadi paper and black drawing ink wrestle it out on his side, but more on that later.

Curio cabinet

A black metal cabinet holds boards and supplies, and can be wheeled here and there.

pearcey_d_StudioPaint

Colour samples and a water dish from my friend and potter, Janna Burford.

pearcey_d_StudioDrawer

Brush drawer with panic button.

Book shelf

Some favourite books and an interesting ceramic piece from the uncle of my 95 year old mother-in-law. I’m trying to research the history of it, it’s quite odd.

Corn & bird

Stacks of papered panel boards ready to go, underneath a childhood pencil sharpener, and a corn drawing by Malcolm (graphite and oil pastel). We have a closet in the hallway with a second Billy bookshelf (IKEA) full of supplies.

Typical sunset
