A walk on the beach

Here we were on Sunday, March 9, 2014. Great clunking ice & honking geese.

IMG_2477IMG_2478IMG_2485IMG_2488IMG_2494IMG_2493Swans! We counted 14, so all was even & good. And, later, it was still light out at 7pm.

Beautiful walks to end the year. December is never Beautiful walks to end the year. December is never my favourite month, but I’ve made it back here on New Year’s Eve to wish you all a quiet but pleasant countdown 🥴 I have an illustration to finish for the end of this infamous year...by midnight...party in the art room 🎨🥂(no guests allowed) 😷To be continued in 2021.....
So last night I was going on about things in hair So last night I was going on about things in hair and today at work I see this ad from Family Circle 1962 😆🥗 How can I outdo the salad hat? And since when did Miracle Whip cross paths with French Dressing 🤔 (I really like the colour palette of this ad 🎨)
I’ve almost finalized my new colour palette 🎨 I’ve almost finalized my new colour palette 🎨 It’s very different for me, but I’m hoping it will shake things up a bit 😏 These four sketchbook pages have hits of the new colours. I also want to abandon my collage habit....and putting things in hair 😲 I know. 2021 is looking intriguing! #dawnpearceypainting goes out on a limb 🤫
I took this photo 3 years ago to inspire a colour I took this photo 3 years ago to inspire a colour palette for new paintings 🎨 I see bits of this in recent work, but still a lot of beige too. I’m plotting out a paint chart for new portraits, but it’s a bit of a slog to get INto personal projects - don’t you find? 😔 I managed to name my new colours, however, and the names all ended up in the sweets aisle....so my working title for the series is ‘Confectionery’ 🎨🍭 (I feel like if I state it out loud here I might actually work on it ✊) All these items, except pen, are from @winresaleshops #isupportwin Studio Friday! 🙌
I consulted my dictionary for a November 2020 #lex I consulted my dictionary for a November 2020 #lexiconcolourco grouping, and once again the random word pairings picked up on a vibe: 🌪Jubilant Synthesis 📴Pathos Subtraction 🏴‍☠️Feeble Nitwit 📀 Beacon Lotion #dawnpearceypainting in a sketchbook with acrylic on gessoed paper, coloured pencil, gold & silver leaf, collage, Letraset 📝 Happy, keep-to-your-own-bubble FriYay!
