A walk on the beach

Here we were on Sunday, March 9, 2014. Great clunking ice & honking geese.

IMG_2477IMG_2478IMG_2485IMG_2488IMG_2494IMG_2493Swans! We counted 14, so all was even & good. And, later, it was still light out at 7pm.

I found a good quote for how I process the things churning in my head 👉 “Often the hands will solve a mystery that the intellect has struggled with in vain” [Carl Jung] ✏️📝🖍️🖌️
Yesterday was International Day of Women and Girls Yesterday was International Day of Women and Girls in Science 🙌 I watched a wonderful virtual panel celebrating the people #BreakingBarriersInSTEM on @girlsinscience 👩‍🔬👩‍🚒👩‍🚀👩‍🏭🧑‍💻 It’s inspiring to soak up positive messaging around who can study & work in science, technology, trades, engineering, and mathematics 💚 Remember the days of being told “Don’t be like that” for being a girl interested in science and math? 🙋🤦 CAGIS has great programs and fabulous videos on YouTube 🎬 Yessss to good news and STEM stars to look up to 💫 TBT to my cookbook sketchbook and a page from my visit to the Diefenbunker (a whole other story) 🎛️🎨

I feel like Picasso-fying my face (been that kind I feel like Picasso-fying my face (been that kind of week 🤹), so I’m playing with my nose right now and collage-sketching my composition ✂️👃🏼 One of my favourite Picasso portraits is “Marguerite Walther (Mémé), 1939” (mother of Marie-Thérèse) 🖤 Swipe to see my references, including a snippet from an article on Picasso’s faces 👁️ Creative weekend glee everyone! 🙌 #arttoartresuscitation
CAMOUFLAGE & PATIENCE [acrylic/pencil/collage] 📝 I was trying to word out what I mean with this title, and I came across a quote by Akiko Busch: “Inconspicuousness begins as self-protection. It soon extends to self-reliance and a deeper appreciation of who we are and where we belong.” But also (from me): Calculated, dagger-like jabs from the edge of the “big pond” are often necessary 🗡️🖋️🖌️✏️🤪 #mondayhappythoughts from #dawnpearceypainting 📷 Reference photo from @owasowfoundphotos
